In Ireland, January 6th enjoys Nollaig na mBan or Women's Little Christmas in celebration of the feast of the Epiphany.
Traditionally on this day all the ladies get together and enjoy their own little Christmas, while the men stay at home and look after the children and carryout the housework. It is also common for children to buy their mothers and grandmothers presents on this day to show their appreciation.
This beautiful tradition is still very much alive in many parts of Ireland.
